Adam Donovan, Multiplexing Tautophone, 2014, Installation view Multiplexing Tautophone is a robot sound artwork that is a part of an installation / performance titled ”Psychophysics Machines”. The installation involves a number of acoustic lens robots that focus and move sound around the room. This video is a short demo of the work installed in Luzern Switzerland as part of ”Jurassic Lab IV” run by Labor Luzern. The robot is able to spin of speeds of up to five hundred revolutions per minute multiplexing a focused beam of sound tricking the listener to believe there are many sound sources within the space. |
