Adam Donovan, Heterodyning Cage, 2004, Installation view

This installation work evolved from a collaboration with the Australian network for art and technology and the defence science and technology organisation in south Australia aka Australian military research department. The work was based on research into acoustic beam forming devices. The work evolved of a number of years and finally reached it final stage in 2004 when exhibited at ACMI in Melbourne as part of the exhibition Proof-the act of seeing with ones own eyes. As a final work it incorprated a tracking robot, 2 real-time video screens, camera tracking equipment, and a sound beam attach to the robot. You can read various writings about this work below and also watch some video.
